The price of your bed includes, bed linen, free WiFi access and use of all our facilities.
Most of our dorm are mixed, but we have a few dorms just for girls too.
. We have a mix of dorms and private rooms (single rooms, twin rooms and double rooms for couples). If you’re a party of three or four friends write us a message and we can book you a four bed dorm all for yourselves. Have a look at our Rooms section of this website.
We have two dedicated internet connections spreading super fast wifi everywhere in the hostel. Connect all your devices, we can handle them.
Yes! We can recommend you a free walking tour of central Santiago. We also sell discounted tickets for several bicycle tours and a local pub crawl. Ask at our Tour Desk about wine tours, ski transportation, and more.
Yes. We have a well equipped self catering kitchen for our guests.
Yes, we have coin operated laundry machines.
All our rooms are equipped with backpack sized lockers. Bring your own padlock or buy one at the front desk!
We are located in the middle of Barrio Bellavista, Santiago’s liveliest and arguably most interesting district in the heart of the city. Our address is: Ernesto Pinto Lagarrigue 262, Barrio Bellavista.
From the airport you can get a taxi (aprox. $25 dollars) or a shared shuttle service (around $9 dollars per passenger, look for “TransVip” counter). Always use official taxis when arriving at the airport that are prepaid for at an official taxi counter inside the airport. If you want to come independently we are a short walk to the Baquedano Metro Station (Line 1 Red Line). Also, Uber is widely available in Santiago everywhere except at the airport.
The official time is 15:00, but we allow check-in as soon as the room is cleaned and becomes available. This depends on how busy the hostel is. Check out is any time before 11am.
Yes! If you have a reservation, you can check in when you like. Our reception is open 24 hours a day. Walk-in bookings are not accepted after 8pm.
We offer free luggage storage for our guests at all times.
No, we absolutely never let anyone from anywhere check in without presenting a valid ID document. Valid documents are a passport (for all travellers) or a national ID card (for south americans) – Please also remember to bring the credit or debit card you made your booking with.
We don’t like to brag but we are quite a popular hostel. And though we do accept walk-in bookings (only possible until 7:00 pm subject to availability), it is always best to book or call us in advance to avoid any problems.
You will ALWAYS find the cheapest rates here on our website. Get in touch with us and we will give you the best possible deal. Our front desk is usually available to take your bookings from the chat box.
You can only check-in to La Chimba if you are 18 years or older.
We always do our best to place people in the same party in the same room. Normally this is not an issue, however, during busy periods when we have many bookings, your party may be spread across multiple rooms. Whilst we can not guarantee anything, we will always do our best to help you out!
We accept all major credit cards and cash (U.S dollars and chilean pesos).
It’s easy! If you want to extend your stay, just come to reception before 11:00 am (check out time) and pay for your new night(s). This is subject to availability. We will try to book you in the same bed in order to make your stay easier, but this cannot be guaranteed. Please note that stays over 2 weeks are subject to management discretion.
We can make changes or corrections, depending on our availability, as long as we are informed at least 24 hours before check in.
Yes. If you are a foreign national and are traveling in Chile on a tourist visa you are exempt from paying 19% VAT tax in any hotel as long as payment is carried out in US dollars (cash or credit card). If payment is done in chilean pesos a 19% VAT tax must be added.
